TUI NA GENERAL PREVENTION MASSAGE
|
| This is an example of a general-purpose type of tui na massage that was passed along to me by my tui na teachers at the Dechen Yonten Dzo Institute of Buddhist Medicine. This instruction was given to one of my teachers and her group of tui na students when they were studying tui na massage in China in the mid 1980's. When the tui na Doctor teaching the class was asked if he would demonstrate a massage that could be used like the relaxation-type of massage used in the states, this is what he gave to them. |
| This treatment may be done on any person who comes to your office for a regular massage and presents with no pathological signs or symptoms. It uses a combination of rolling method (guen fa), one finger pushing (yi zhir chan fa), grasping (na fa), pressing (an fa), kneading (rou fa), vibration (zhen fa), pinching (nie fa), plucking (bo fa) and chafing (ca fa). Of course, knowledge of and personal instruction in these specific tui na techniques is required to be able to perform this routine. |
All or parts of the instruction below may be incorporated into your regular work to facilitate the primary therapeutic session.
